Teaching Functional Skills to Children With Special Needs.

First of all for the children with special needs of age between 6-12, I will observe their behavior, skills, communication, cognitive, psychosocial skills, and so on. By this observation I will make a list for myself what the students can do and cannot do; this list I can compare with the developmental milestone and the milestones I can see what level of age the students are. of course, I cannot do all this alone. I will also get some more information by asking student's parents, neighbors, friends, relatives, and people who know the students better that me. If I have enough information, then I can start to each the students. I prefer to teach fictional skills especially for children with sepal needs according to the ability of the students.

I would prefer to ask parents, psychiatrists, friends, neighbors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other teachers. form these people I will get information about what the child can do such as using nonverbal communication, enjoying to play ball, imitating people, drawing cars, having some understanding.
